About the Position: Serve as a Human Resources Specialist (MILITARY) and Senior Program Manager with responsibility to plan, direct and evaluate the Army Retirement Services Program for all three Army Components that retires over 30,000 Soldiers per year and provides for 1.25 million Retired Soldiers and surviving spouses. This position is located in Arlington, VA.

Duties

Act as the Director, Army Retirement Services in their absence to achieve organization’s strategic goals and objectives and speak publicly for the Director. Independently develop and interpret regulatory guidance and formulate plans, standards, and procedures for the management and direction of the Army-wide Retirement Services Program. Provide all fiscal, logistical, administrative, and policy support to the Army Chief of Staff’s Retired Soldier Council. Serve as Senior Editor of Army Echoes, the Retired Soldier newsletter, Change of Mission, the Army’s retirement planning newsletter, and other retirement publications. Serve as coach, facilitator, and/or negotiator in coordinating the Retirement Services Office initiatives and in consensus building activities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • You may be expected to travel up to 15% for this position.
  • One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
