About the Position: This position is located at: National Guard Bureau, Pers Division, Arlington, VA. About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.


Make technical determinations that are subject to only after-the-fact review in the majority of situations. Serve as the principal advisor and Senior Civilian Military Personnel Management Specialist in support of over 350,000 personnel worldwide. Establish and execute operating programs for those mission requirements assigned.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: interpret governing regulations, policies and plans to determine their impact and resolve controversial problems; advise on operating human resource system such Integrated Personnel and Pay System (IPSS), Med-Chart or Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS); analyze operating policies, programs, and systems on mobilization issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-14 or equivalent). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceManaging Human ResourcesProgram Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
