The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) seeks people for the position of Personnel Security Specialist. This role supports the efficient delivery of background investigations, continuous vetting, and adjudications to uphold the integrity and trustworthiness of the federal, contractor and industry workforce.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:

- The incumbent is required to attain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certifications within two (2) years of entry on duty.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG 12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Liaison for customer-facing portions of DCSA's automated systems;
Utilizes DCSA's investigations program and processes as well as the SSC program, including governing public laws, Executive Orders (EO), regulations, policies, and guidance;
Analytical ability to assess complex operational situations, identify and describe problems, and recommend alternative solutions based on personnel security guidance;
Provides direction, advice and leadership to subordinates and liaisons on personnel security work methods, practices and procedures.

Develops and/or establishes Security policies, procedures, or methodologies for core Security principles of personnel security or insider threat. Evaluates internal and external security policies and ensures consistency with regulatory requirements.

Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
