About the Position: Serves as a staff-level military Human Resources (HR) Specialist with responsibility for providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR program areas to all levels of management officials within the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Directorate Training.
Duties
Serve as a staff-level military Human Resources (HR) Specialist with responsibility for providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR program areas
Participate in the development, execution, evaluation, and oversight for military HR programs.
Plan and carry out complete projects involving various military HR programs such as strength management, personnel readiness.
Prepare reports and briefings on program status and/or recommended actions.
Plan and carry out complete projects involving various military HR programs such as retention, in/out processing, casualty operations, awards, evaluations, separations, and Soldier for Life – Transition Assistance Program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) of 20% of the time.

GS-12:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes executing program management of military human resources (HR) programs; experience in military HR practices in at least five of the following functional areas (strength management, personnel readiness, casualty operations, awards, evaluations, separations, personnel actions, in/out processing, Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP), Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP), ID Cards/DEERS/RAPIDS); and experience interpreting analyzing data extractions or reports from automated HR databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
GS-13:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes executing program management of military human resources (HR) programs; experience in military HR practices in at least five of the following functional areas (strength management, personnel readiness, casualty operations, awards, evaluations, separations, personnel actions, in/out processing, Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP), Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP), ID Cards/DEERS/RAPIDS); experience military HR practices in at least two of the following: Ready and Resilience Programs (Substance Abuse, Drug Testing, Prevention, Risk Reduction, Suicide Prevention, and Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Prevention (SHARP); experience evaluating overall plans and proposals for military HR projects; experience interpreting analyzing data extractions or reports from automated HR databases.
