This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-6 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. You will serve as a Wartime Readiness Director (WaRD) of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.

Duties

You will be responsible for the planning, execution and overall management of the Command's activities to enable, prepare and evaluate the organization's wartime level of readiness. You will establish the Division Newport's vision, strategic plans, and requirements to achieve the aforementioned objectives and identifies metrics and measures to evaluate performance against those goals. You will develop command level wartime readiness plans, processes and procedures, and coordinate with the appropriate business and technical departments organizations for their implementation and execution. You will plan and direct execution of test and training activities, as well as recurring Command level drills, to prepare and evaluate the workforce level of readiness. You will advise the Commanding Officer (CO) and Technical Director (TD) and internal organizations performing activities in wartime readiness efforts. You will direct activities and interfaces with department personnel and others across Division Newport, to provide expertise in support of the formation and coordination of wartime readiness efforts. You will interface with senior officials at various organizations, including Admiral and senior service civilians, to gain understanding, identify requirements, develop plans, coordinate activities and fostering collaboration.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a temporary promotion/reassignment not to exceed two-five years.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-5 (GS-13/14 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing the planning, execution and management of submarine or surface fleet activities and operations to ensure wartime readiness.
