The position is located in the Inventory Management Branch of the Production Planning Division, Office of Manufacturing, United States Mint Headquarters, Washington DC. As an Inventory Management specialist, you will be responsible for all HQ Inventories and maintain an automated inventory system on all expendable and non-expendable property for fiscal accounting and managerial purposes.
Duties
As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will:
Gather and review cost data from various vendors for cost benefit analysis to determine the most economical source to purchase expendable commodities stocked for the service.
Conduct and/or coordinate physical inventories of various Headquarters, and occasionally, regional offices to determine accuracy of statistical data regarding actual property on hand.
Meet with officials on all levels within the Bureau and other organizations in and outside of the Federal Government to provide, as well as receive, advice and guidance on maintaining viable expendable and non-expendable programs.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes:
Experience in the use of Inventory Management modules of an Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system, such as Oracle; AND
Processing Inventory transactions; AND
Experience conducting and reconciling Physical Counts; AND
Experience with item setup in a system
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
