Duties
This position is located in the Property and Asset Management Division (PAMD), Office of Facilities and Logistics (OFL), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, (OCAO), in the United States Capitol Police (USCP). The incumbent serves as the Supervisory, Inventory Management Specialist and is responsible for the overall management of the inventory and accountability of the USCP weapons, ammunition, and weapons-related equipment, with responsibility for the receipt, issue, recordation, and reconciliation of inventory records. Responsibilities also include maintaining the weapons budget, procurement, and purchasing requirements; overseeing the Accountable Property Utilization and Disposal, the Lost and Found, and the Prisoner Property Programs. Provides supervisory leadership to Inventory Management Specialists regarding all facets of the Range operations, Lost and Found Program, and the Prisoner Property Program.
Manages the USCP Weapons, Lost and Found, and the Prisoner Property Programs. Ensures the accountable property programs are operating efficiently and effectively and that required actions are accurate and processed timely. Ensures weapons are properly barcoded as outlined in the Department's policies and procedures. Forecasts the required weapons, ammunitions, munitions, and any weapon-related equipment for the preparation of the Range budget. Ensures that accountable property records are properly maintained. As the senior authority of the range property and asset management operations establishes and enforces procedures leading to restricted access to weapons, ammunition, and related equipment stored in secure locations.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
For the CP-10/GS-12 you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CP-9/GS-11 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as 1) experience with the budgetary process to include forecasting, execution, and reporting; 2) develop inventory controls and procedures to ensure proper protection, security, and maintenance; 3) responsible for inventory of sensitive items; and 4) ensures weapons are properly barcoded.
