Duties

This position will allow you to use your expertise in administrative oversight and assistance to provide substantive support to Customs and Border Protection upper management. This position starts at a salary of $112,015.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $145,617.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $145,617.00 (GS-13 Step 10). In this Inventory Management Specialist position, you will be responsible to implement the inventory management, distribution management, payment (procurement) management and customer service management functions of supply chain management. Typical work assignments include: Planning, organizing, and carrying out annual and semi-annual inventories and managing the physical HQ fleet Developing and/or implementing U.S. Border Patrol policies, directives, and procedures to maintain accountability Analyzing and evaluating purchase requisitions and purchase card transactions to ensure proper material groups, funding, and delivery are accurate and in compliance U.S. Border Patrol policy Reviewing and analyzing fleet and facility requirements to ensure that U.S. Border Patrol HQ is adhering to applicable directives and laws Ensuring that Asset Management policies and directives are adhered to and applies best practices for lifecycle management for Personal Property

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing, regulating and coordinating assigned personnel property/assets, supplies, equipment or other material Planning, organizing, and directing studies to develop long-range studies and forecasts Developing and implementing national level guidance in agency standards, guidelines, or policies for major supply programs Evaluating and making recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for major agency and interagency supply projects Leading or participating as a technical expert in interagency study groups to resolve problems in existing supply systems and programs that require innovative solutions NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 12/14/2023. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
