This position is located in Office of Security & Integrity, Mission Assurance Division, Physical Plant Branch. As an Supervisory Security Specialist, you will serve as a Section Chief and advisor on security programs to include security recapitalization, security maintenance, physical security risk management and Guard service programs within USCIS..

Duties

Serves as a Section Chief in the Citizenship and Immigration Services' (USCIS) Office of Security and Integrity (OSI). Playing a key role in preparing, analyzing, formulating, developing, reviewing, and implementing USCIS security policies, standards, and procedures in accordance with Executive Orders, federal laws, regulations, and DHS and USCIS directives. Establishes and carries out specific action plans for accomplishing short- and long-term goals and objectives and OSI’s mission and vision as it relates to U SCIS H Q and field operations. Assigns tasks and projects, explains work requirements, prescribes procedures and techniques, and furnishes policy guidance to security specialists to accomplish the specific security program’s strategic objectives. Coordinates and provides direction and guidance for managing and implementing agencywide programs such as Security Recapitalization, Security Maintenance, Physical Security Risk Management, and Guard Services. Plans, conducts, or participates in special studies, task forces, and special reviews, independently or in collaboration with team members, to provide expert advice to OSI leadership as it relates to the assigned security program and functions Develops and implements program-specific security policies in accordance with DHS, USCIS, and OSI policies and procedures, and ensures consistent application across USCIS.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/20/2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/20/2025. GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Performing security logistics processes and procedures; Providing direction and guidance for managing and implementing agencywide security programs; Leading a security program for a large organization; Performing physical security assessments; Developing and implementing program-specific security policies.
