This position is located in Office of Security & Integrity, Threat Management Division, Threat Operations Branch. As a Supervisory Security Specialist, you will direct the day-to-day operations and processes of the USCIS Command Center within a Command center that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, over multiple shifts.

Duties

Directs the processes and operations within the USCIS Command Center. Oversees the flow of information from USCIS and DHS elements, other command and operations centers, and private sector partners to ensure threat and incident information is properly collected, tracked, distributed, and archived. Partners with the law enforcement and intelligence communities plus other critical Federal, State, and Local organizations including private sector partners for outreach, awareness, and information sharing and ensuring USCIS needs are considered. Serves as an expert consultant on broad projects and programs with potentially national impact. Provides advice and guidance on sensitive issues essential to the organization's mission. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements assignments, and the capabilities of employees and evaluate work performance of subordinates.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 06/07/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 06/07/2024. GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Leading, planning, organizing, and directing functions and staff in achievement of organizational goals; Leading projects involving the evaluation of security programs and operations; Developing collaborative relationships to facilitate mutually satisfying solutions that further organizational vision; Effectively communicating, both orally and in writing, with stakeholder, peers, and senior management.
