About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Special Operations Command, at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Serves as Chief, Human Resources Operations Division. Supervises and leads an Army Service Component Command (ASCC) level human resources staff of 17 personnel. As the recognized expert military personnel advisor, advises and participates in major decisions that have a direct and immediate impact on planning and executing key mission initiatives affecting military personnel. Manages the provision of essential personnel service support activities and functions throughout the command including policy development for awards and decorations, incentive pays, and HR policy. Supervises the activities of the division through three subordinate branch supervisors/leaders.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station less than 50% of the time or more.
  • The employee must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • As a condition of employment, the employee shall be subject to periodic and random urinalysis drug testing.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
