About the Position: The primary purposes of this position is to serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-37, Training Division, Headquarters, First Army.
Duties
Develop plans, policies, administration, and programs to accomplish the command training mission.
Evaluate office operations for effectiveness, quality, performance, and progress to meet program objectives.
Perform technical advisor duties for the Command’s Training Mission.
Develop training support policy, planning, resourcing, and execution guidance for training enablers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires obtaining and maintaining a TOP SECRET security clearance.
- Requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel away from the primary duty station up to approximately 25% of the time on an annual basis.
- This is a Key Position; A Key employee is a civilian employee who occupies a key position, or who has been designated to occupy a key position upon mobilization.
- The incumbent is required, Under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program, and must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- May be required to work overtime on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; (1) technical advisor for the Command's training mission developing training plans and the synchronization of training support resources; (2) Oversee the training support programs including infrastructure requirements, training enablers, and schools; (3) support the application of training support to mobilized, Contingency Responsive Force, and units in Training Year 3 of the Regionally Aligned Readiness, Modernization Model and Total Force Partnership Program. and, (4) Supervise a senior level staff comprised of senior civilians, military, specialized civilian and contractor personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-14 or above.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
