As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as Assistant Manager for the Office of Airports (ARP), Southern Region, Safety & Standards Branch (ASO-620).

Duties

Provides principal technical advice and guidance to the Airports Division Director, Deputy Director, and four Airports District Offices (ADOs) in the administration of airport engineering/standards, airport certification, and other safety programs. Oversees and makes recommendations regarding assigned programs to the Division Director and Deputy Division Director. Leads, supervises and directs a diverse group of administrative and technical professionals that support the safety and standards programs for airports in the National Airspace System (NAS).

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • A recent SF-50 is required (See Required Documents for requirements)
  • A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required
  • Successful completion of a security investigation will be required.
  • This is a drug-testing designated position.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience: Direct technical or management-level experience applying processes related to airport management, airport compliance with federal obligations and airport safety and certification programs.
