You will serve as Chief of Staff at the TSC, Arctic Security Studies.
Duties
As a Chief of Staff at the GS-0301-14/15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Center's lead for staff integration and coordination, to include centralizing and organizing logistics, strategic and operational planning and protocol between the Center's mission and mission support pillars.
Provides expert assistance, support, and coordination in the planning and execution of administrative matters pertaining to the Center's staff and associated processes.
Responsible for the integration or work accomplished across the TSC divisions in order to achieve unity of effort to comply with OSD policies, Combatant Command directions, and DSCA procedures.
Manages protocol in support of programs at the TSC as we well as externally conducted education, research or engagement programs.
Serves as lead coordinator to ensure TSC day-to-day operations and programs are executed in accordance with U.S. Statute and USG/DoD regulatory guidelines.
Leads TSC Deputy Directors Working Group (DDWG), Chairs the Dean and Associate Directors Group, and coordinates the execution of several key meetings for the Center and members of the cross-center staff planning team.
Directs, delegates, monitors, and employs Center Action Group (CAG) members to carry out all Center special projects as directed by the Director and/or Deputy Director.

- Incumbent must achieve 80 hours of continuing education (CUE) every two years.

Qualifications
For GS-14:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Comprehensive knowledge of agency program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the worth of program accomplishments.
Skill in planning, organizing, and directing team work and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations.
Knowledge or relationships with other programs and key administrative support functions within the employing agency.
For GS-15:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Mastery of advanced management and organizational principles and practices along with a comprehensive knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting regulations, guidelines and process, and thorough knowledge of the Center's facilities planning, acquisition, and management process to prepare long-range (5 year) and short-range planning guidance in accordance with broad agency program policies and objectives.
Expert knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods plus a thorough understanding of how regulatory or enforcement programs are administered to select and apply appropriate program evaluation and measurement techniques in determining the extent of compliance with rules and regulations issues by the agency, or in measuring and evaluating program accomplishments.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
