As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.This position serves as the Deputy Regional Administrator in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Alaskan Region.
Duties
The Deputy Regional Administrator (DRA) fully shares the responsibilities of the Regional Administrator (RA) and is responsible for providing cross-functional leadership and representing the FAA throughout the region. He/she directs the delivery of high-quality corporate services to an extensive, diverse customer base and exercises managerial responsibilities including selections, promotions, performance management, disciplinary actions, training and travel. Plans, manages, assigns, directs and reviews work of subordinate employees at the organizational unit level.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- A one year managerial probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
Candidates must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG/GS 14 grade or FV-J Pay Band level. Specialized experience is experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equal to the next lower level. The specialized experience is work which is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular dimensions to successfully perform the duties of this position.Specialized Experience:Specialized experience includes experience in managing agency and/or organizational performance, resources, outreach and facilities programs for effective service delivery and experience representing an agency or organization to congressional or community officials, the media, and/or the public.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a selective factor for this position.
