This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Community Planning and Development.
Duties
As a Regional Director, you will:
- Serve as the first line supervisor for Field Office Management (CPD Director or Program Manager if CPD Director is open) in assigned region. Act as CPD Director in the absence of the CPD Director in the assigned region.
- Monitor Field Office performance, evaluate, and recommend any needed changes to field offices.
- Advise DAS on budgetary and staffing needs on a Regional and Field Office basis.
- Allocate training, travel, and award funds to individual Field Offices.
- Evaluate regional staffing needs and allocate available staffing resources to Field Offices.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Directing or providing management oversight of housing and community or economic development programs; AND
Managing and strategic planning of daily operations including establishing goals, objectives and resource management; AND
Managing the administration of grant programs designed to improve the economic, physical, and social conditions of underserved populations
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
