Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), Office of Budget and Administration, Technology Governance Branch, in Washington DC.
At the full performance level (GS-15) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Supervise staff to support the Data & Information Management Section within the Technology Governance Branch.
Lead data resource management across BOEM focusing on governing, guiding, monitoring, analyzing, and operationalizing data.
Oversee the management of data assets and advocate the use of data in decision making for BOEM.
Oversee, monitor, and measure the performance of data management implementation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Provide guidance in applying innovation while limiting disruption to ongoing operational activities.
As the senior leader and chief technical expert for BOEM data management, identifies, reviews, and issues procedures and guidance for bureau data stewardship, data architecture, metadata, and data technical standards across BOEM.
BOEM has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Information:
GS-15: (&163,964.00 - $191,900) per annum.
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience Requirements:
GS-15: To qualify for the GS-15, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience with the migration of on-premises data/applications/systems to cloud hosted environments (Microsoft Azure).
Experience implementing data management technologies, (e.g. geological and geophysical, business intelligence and low-code environments).
Experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Must meet all.
