You will serve as a FACILITIES OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the NUCLEAR PROPULSION DIRECTORATE of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
Duties
You will perform a variety of facility maintenance and/or repair duties for all buildings and installed engineer equipment for buildings assigned to NAVSEA, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Directorate (NNPD).
You will evaluate conditions and make or recommend corrections of deficiencies; and sound judgment to
handle emergencies particularly as to immediate action to be taken.
You will be responsible for estimating and scheduling in-house short range facility maintenance and
repair work.
You will determine needed repair and modification to projects or if detailed drawings are required, make proper identification of material, quantity of items, and deadlines for completion of work based on detailed drawings.
You will assist in development of shop plan, service/work orders, work sequence and procedures,
and prepare and submit cost estimates for supplies, facilities, and equipment needed to accomplish work.
You will serve as a point of contact and in a liaison capacity to contractors and construction personnel during their on-site inspection of projects.
You will coordinate special and specific planning needs and activities with the installation engineers, safety, security, supply personnel, and contractors engaged in modification, installation, or minor construction for facilities.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the BR-01 pay band (or GS-07 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector evaluating repairs, maintenance, or modernization of facilities to ensure project requirements (e.g., cost estimates, materials or manpower) are sufficient for accomplishment of work.

Education
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
- Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
- Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's or equivalent degree; OR
- An LL.B. or J.D. degree in a field directly related to the position being filled; OR
- A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
