You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FACILITIES OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the SEA10F, FACILITIES DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND.
Duties
You will manage NAVSEA HQ buildings.
You will supervise the work of the facilities operations specialist building managers.
You will manage workspace planning and alteration, personnel moves, building repairs, HVAC repairs, janitorial services, recycling services, pest control, and renovations.
You will oversee the development, revision and implementation of policy for facilities operation.
You will develop new techniques, criteria, and information involving the repair, maintenance, or modification of equipment, facilities, facility operations, or services.
You will supervise a team and develops standards of performance for subordinates and prepares performance appraisals.
You will hear and resolve employee complaints, group grievances and more serious actions recommended by subordinate supervisors.
You will design and structure subordinate positions to ensure optimum effectiveness according to position management policies and programs.
You will formulate and put into effect sustainable operations and maintenance plans.
You will review and ensure that all asset information in MAXIMO is correct for all NAVSEA occupied facilities
You will optimize, control, and manage all resources across projects/programs.
You will follow through on any work status items not being completed in a timely manner.
You will attend regularly scheduled meetings with NAVSEA to discuss problems/concerns.
You will serve as the liaison between NAVFAC and NAVSEA .
You will meet with NAVSEA regularly to review work efforts and requirements
You will provide updates on facility issues and work efforts that NAVFAC is planning.
You will enforce headquarter policies for certificates of inspections and building requirements.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band/grade, NH-03 (GS-13), in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing facilities operations or activities (e.g. planning, budgeting, maintenance, personnel moves, renovations, repairs, upgrades, janitorial services, pest control and space management) to identify and recommend policy changes for improved maintenance or sustainable operations.
