About the Position: Serves as the COR for contracts such as, but not limited to, testing and chemical treatment for closed loops and cooling towers; and maintenance and repair of elevators, cranes and hoists, facility maintenance.

Duties

Executes task orders against authorized line items included in the contract, attesting to availability of funds and validity of the transaction. Reviews reports of contractor performance to assess degree of compliance with contract requirements and to identify problem areas. Participates in meetings with the contractor to discuss performance, resolve problems and negotiate contract changes. Ensures quality and timely work performance is provided by contractor. Plan and assign work to subordinates, set and adjust priorities and schedule completion of work and evaluate performance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health/ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually.
  • This position has been designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Employee required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clothing.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business and Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Ability to plan and organize workFacilities Operations ManagementProgram/Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
