The primary purpose of this position is to provide AF and DoD customers with specialized depot-level maintenance, technical support, and services for all equipment assigned to and supported by the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division Maintenance Branch to include depot level repair, modification, upgrades, and preventative maintenance actions of new and existing assets.
Duties
DUTY 1: Applies technical knowledge of electronic test and repair theories, principles, methods, and techniques on a broad variety of operational Air and Ground, Consolidated SIGINT Support Activity (CSSA), Force Protection, and COMSEC mission equipment and/or the use of specialized ATE.
DUTY 2: Performs analysis of equipment error logs and failures to replicate the failures and environmental conditions to perform necessary corrective maintenance actions to repair the equipment. Utilizes all available information/data to conduct all phases of troubleshooting, repair, and testing under the supervision of the work center supervisor.
DUTY 3: Performs critical inspections to identify manufacturing or design flaws that can affect physical or electrical reliability and maintainability causing unacceptable risks.
DUTY 4: Represents the AFLCMC/HNC and AFLCMC/HNCM within his/her functional area of responsibility. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with the respective Product Branch/Program Office, DoD customers, and stakeholders.
DUTY 5: Tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and configures a wide variety of Information Technology (IT) hardware including standalone servers, network routers/switches, virtual desktop infrastructure equipment and peripherals.
DUTY 6: Enforces occupational and environmental safety standards, fire protection, and good housekeeping habits. Mitigates possible hazards and identifies Personal Protective Equipment requirements.

- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act 2012, Public Law 112-81, subtitle F-financial management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. The incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within 12 months of assignment of these duties.
- A waiver of this 12-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
- Employee may be required to work overtime or an irregular work shift.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Technical and Medical Support Positions for this series in conjunction with the Electronics Technical Series, 0856 Individual Occupational Requirements.
This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Technician/ Administrative Support" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: This series covers technical positions supervising, leading, or performing work involving applying:
knowledge of the techniques and theories characteristic of electronics, such as a knowledge of basic electricity and electronic theory, algebra, and elementary physics;
knowledge of electronic equipment design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance; and
knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design, characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems related to, but less than, a full professional knowledge of electronic engineering.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience includes Working knowledge of electronics technician practices, methods, techniques, processes, operations, terminology, and design as they relate to depot-level test and repair. This experience must have included demonstration of the use of schematic diagrams, a variety of test equipment, and the application of appropriate electronic formulas involved in such duties as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, designing, calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, constructing, developing, and instructing on electronic equipment, or similar functions. Experience in developing policies, standards, and procedures for maintenance, installation, or similar functions, provided the work clearly shows that the applicant applied a specialized knowledge of the theories and principles of a variety of electronic systems or equipment. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of electronics technician practices, methods, techniques, processes, operations, terminology, and design as they relate to depot-level test and repair.
Knowledge of technical specifications/data to develop, collect, analyze, evaluate, and interpret specifications, schematics, engineering drawings, test reports, original equipment manufacturer technical specifications/technical data when developing/establishing depot-level maintenance capabilities.
Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, principles, methods, procedures, and other guidance related to various functions of life-cycle sustainment/maintenance support; in-depth understanding of the interrelationships of various disciplines required to manage systems/projects/programs.
Skill in interpreting technical data such as drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems; analyzing problems in integrated/interfacing systems involving numerous complex circuits; and using complex electronic and electromechanical test and measuring equipment using integrated test functions or different purposes.
Ability to apply and convert knowledge of equipment, systems, design and test methodologies into detailed but practical depot-level maintenance test procedures, and/or local work card to coordinate effectively with equipment specialists, engineers, system managers, and program offices to identify specific maintenance training requirements; and to develop and adjust plans and schedules to meet requirements.
Ability to modify standard procedures, adapt equipment or techniques, and make departures from previous approaches to solve technical problems or improve system performance for highly complex electronic systems; trace electronics logic from one system to another; and use computer terminals to enter and extract data to maintain records and document actions.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
