The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authority over the Hardware Maintenance Section of the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division, responsible for providing planning, direction, organizational, and managerial control over supervisory and nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division, Maintenance Branch.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Hardware Maintenance Section, providing direct staff support to the Chief of Maintenance, CCSD product branches and various IPT's.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Compliance. Instills a culture of compliance thru actively promoting participation in internal and external inspection processes

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions.
This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Supervision/Management" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
EDUCATION: Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: 1) Professional registration or licensure 2) Written Test 3) Specified academic courses 4) Related Curriculum

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, principles, methods, procedures and other guidance related to various functions of life-cycle maintenance support; and understanding of the interrelationships of the various Depot maintenance functions. Knowledge of a wide range of manpower, personnel, education, family & readiness, instructional systems, service operations, directives, programs, and procedures. Knowledge of the organization safety and understanding of the specialized needs of the programs or operational areas supported. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, EEO regulations, and procedures. NOTE: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Ability to plan, organize, and direct the Depot Maintenance functions, and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information and to evaluate options concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of supply/logistics operations.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, and to work effectively with groups and individuals in planning efforts and in working out solutions to problems or questions through subordinate supervisors.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
Desired technical background including knowledge of electronic theory and equipment characteristics, as well as experience in the use of data base management systems and other automated systems. An understanding and working knowledge of cryptographic equipment maintenance, digital computer maintenance, system maintenance practices and techniques, software sustainment processes, electronic system fabrication, and development of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Test Program Set (TPS) is desired. Desired extensive practical experience with the maintenance of a variety of analog and digital communication devices is desirable. Desired ability to utilize technical data pertaining to different generations of highly complex communication equipment to properly apply production control methods and procedures. Familiarity with various types of test equipment (including ATE) used for electronic equipment maintenance, software sustainment tools, and the automated systems systems used in support of prototype systems design, fabrication, and testing is desired. Desired knowledge of the various technical skill requirements necessary to perform depot level maintenance and be able to apply these requirements to available capabilities to adequately support the various equipment items tasked to support within the Hardware Maintenance Section.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
