You will serve as a PUBLIC SAFETY SYTEMS OPERATIONS MANAGER in the Information Technology (N6), Public Safety Systems (N6S) of COMMANDER - NAVAL INSTALLATIONS.

Duties

You will conduct research to identify and analyze trends and provide recommendations to achieve program objectives. You will assess employee work performance to determine if they are meeting established performance objectives. You will evaluate operational issues to recommend solutions and improvement. You will manage program activities to ensure funding goals are met. You will develop and implement strategic plans to address organizational requirements.

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Oversees program management by tracking cost, schedule and performance of safety projects; 2) Utilizes Emergency Management and Force Protection system requirements and solutions; and 3) Coordinates with senior officials in resolving problems related to life and safety.
