About the Position: Serves as a Senior Analyst in the Directorate of Prevention, Readiness and Resilience (DPRR), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-9 with the mission to lead the Army's Suicide Prevention efforts. This position supports transformation of Suicide Prevention and Response in accordance with Independent Review Commission (IRC) reform guidance.
Duties
Strategic functions include: partner integration, policy transformation, governance activities, planning, and development of modernized training capabilities for the Army Enterprise to enable ready Soldiers and Families.
Develop Congressional, Department of Defense (DoD), and Headquarters Department of Army (HQDA) policy, written assessments, and briefing products, and responses to short notice requests for support.
Facilitate and lead strategic coordination, integration, synchronization, and support on-going evaluation on Suicide Prevention and Postvention Programs.
Develop, initiate, and implement major projects for the directorate.
Design and develop data collection instruments to support program and training evaluation.
Develop comprehensive assessment and evaluation criteria to systemically measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the programs, research, and initiatives.
Attend conferences, seminars, and meetings and may represent the DCS G-9 at official functions and public events.
Collaborate in multiple research studies and procedural reviews of Suicide Prevention and Postvention program requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) managing programs/projects involving the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of a harmful behaviors with a focus on self-harm behavior and suicide prevention program effectiveness and (2) applying a range of administrative laws/regulations applicable to prevention programs to include suicide prevention and postvention policy, training, and evidence informed activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements. Current employees applying under VEOA are subject to time-in-grade restrictions like any other GS employee.
