You will serve as a Supervisory Security Specialist at NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.
Duties
You will exercise full authority and responsibility for any and all phases of the Command Security Department operation.
You will carry our Equal Employment Opportunity policies and communication support of these polices to subordinates.
You will be responsible for establishing, implementing and interpreting security policy for the Command and implementing policy set forth in higher echelon directives and regulations.
You will serve as the Commanding Officer's primary advisor and direct representative in matters regarding the eligibility of personnel to access classified and sensitive information and assignment to classified and sensitive duties.
You will be responsible for the development and management of the Command's Information Security Program and enforcement of policies for the protection of classified and sensitive information.
You will manage the Command's Industrial Security Program for classified contracts and sensitive non-classified access for DOD contractors to ensure compliance with the provisions of the DOD National Industrial Security Program Manual.
You will serve as the Commanding Officer's advisor and direct representative in all matters related to the Navy Force Protection Program, including the Physical Security Program and Anti-Terrorism Program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Anti-Terrorism Officer Level II certification and graduate from the Naval Security Manager course, both given by the NCIS Security Training Assessment and Assistance Team (STAAT) teams.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
You must have one year of Security Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss. Specific duties include the following: (1) reviewing and implementing current executive orders and instructions as they relate to Personnel Security, Information Security , Industrial Security, Force Protection, Physical Security, and Antiterrorism to ensure compliance; (2) develop and implement new security standards and procedures; (3) performing site visits and inspections to ensure security procedures are being met and to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities; (4) leading a working group of security professionals to successfully administer a comprehensive security program.
