You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Executive Assistant for Atlantic/Pacific Operations of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This job will close when we have received 50 applications which may be sooner than the closing date.

Duties

You will responsible for the administration, management, and oversight of the daily execution of the Security Training Assistance and Assessments teams. You will develop and execute new certification or qualification requirements and program guidelines and improved methods and approaches for training. You will develop, recommend, coordinate and oversee the execution of policies involving antiterrorism (AT), Force Protection (FT), and Physical Security. You will supervise and evaluate performance of assigned civilian subordinates.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position has been designated as a Security Professional educational Development (SPeD).
  • This position is Critical Sensitive (CS), National Security Risk and Mission Essential (ME).
  • This position is expected to report for duty in time or stay on duty despite late reporting, early dismissal or base closure due to inclement weather of other types of emergencies or situations.
  • This position has been designated as a Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD).
  • This position Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) is required within 24 months of assuming the position and must be maintained through the entire length of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing policies and procedures; directing and overseeing the evaluation of antiterrorism, force protection, law enforcement and physical security education and training programs.
