About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Reserve Command, Army Reserve G-1, Manning Division, Personnel Readiness Branch, located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff Personnel Subject Matter Expert on issues affecting personnel readiness for the entire US Army Reserve Command.
Provide program support, assessment, and consultation services for interrelated readiness issues and programs.
Review Unit Status Reports for US Army Reserve Command units and Major Subordinate Commands.
Track personnel fill in units for all categories of Full Time Support (FTS) and Troop Program Unit (TPU) personnel.
Review proposed force structure changes to determine the impacts on personnel readiness in troop program units.
Implement civilian and military policies and regulations.
Provide readiness analysis in multiple areas.
Brief participants on rules, objectives and operations.
Operate various automated Human Resources systems relating to personnel readiness.
Conduct personnel training.
Manage Human Resource programs.
Brief participants on rules, objectives and operations.
Advise on resolution of human resources management.
Detect changes in regulations, policies, and procedure that impact the mission readiness of organizations.

Specialized Experience Statement: One year of specialized experience which includes:
Researching, analyzing, and interpreting regulations related to military human resources and personnel readiness; and
Preparing and presenting briefs and/or trainings; and
Preparing unit status reports; and
Conducting Mission and Planning Analysis for Personnel Management (i.e. mobilizations, unit deactivations, and large-scale contingency operations).
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
