The FMWRC mission is to create and maintain "FIRST CHOICE" MWR products and services for America's Army, essential to a ready, self-reliant force. This position is located with the JBLM Community Recreation Division. Duties

Responsible for assisting a higher level employee or actions officer with the planning and executing of community special events that respond to the needs and interests of the military/civilian population. Requires innovative approaches and adaptations due to limited resources and diverse range of the population's interest and needs. Special events implemented include community wide events such as 4th of July Celebration; etc. Devises, improvises, and adapts activities to the wide range of participants interest and needs considering limitation of funds, facilities, equipment, volunteers, staff support, etc., available. Submits a cost analysis of special events prior to implementation and after each event. Continuously evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing activities and coordinates events with Marketing/Commercial Sponsorship, and supervisor, prior to scheduling special events or prior to submission of special events for five-year plans.

Requirements

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent may also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • A pre-hire physical is required.
  • Must be able to work a schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and possible holidays.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements 1. Work experience and/or education related to the duties to be performed. 2. Work requires the use of physical exertion when preparing for and overseeing events. 3. Must be able to lift and carry light to moderately heavy items. Highly Preferred Criteria Candidates who meet the following will be considered Highly Preferred and given priority over all other applicants. 1. A minimum of 12 months experience in planning and executing events on a large scale (5,000+ participants). 2. A minimum of 12 months Experience with NAF Contracting. NOTE: The above minimum qualifications must be described within the duties of previous work experience listed on the applicant's resume and assessment/questionnaire. A copy of all supporting documents must be submitted at the time of application.
