About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Director of Army Staff, Program Management Directorate (PMD) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
Duties
Assigned to the Program Management Directorate, Office of the Chief of Staff, Army (OCSA) with duty at Joint Base Lewis McChord.
Serves as expert in developing and interpreting guidelines and policies for logistics and training management.
Provides oversight for U.S. Army training, logistics and operational support to assigned programs.
Employee routinely coordinates very complex actions in support of critical operations and projects occurring in the PACOM AOR.
Manages project teams ensuring project goals are met within established thresholds.
Possesses a vast knowledge of U.S. Army staff (ARSTAF), DoD, and applicable Federal organizations ensuring detailed and thorough U.S. Army coordination for all actions.
Provides expert analysis, problem framing/identification, and special studies of concepts, objectives, requirements, capabilities, organizations, and experiments in the context of the current and future operational environments.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a TS security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI).
- TDY Travel will be less than 25% of the work schedule.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing program direction for multiple segments within an operations directorate; providing expertise on joint combined and interagency operations; and providing operational direction through subordinate leaders to manage organizational operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-14).
