Duties
Serves as a senior specialist responsible for identifying problems, needed enhancements, and/or system changes based on continuous monitoring of critical financial systems.
Analyzes data requirements for the enhancement of automated financial management systems.
Improves system performance and reliability through the testing and validation of internal controls.
Reviews operational effectiveness of internal controls and provides technical guidance and recommendations to junior team members and/or stakeholders. Facilitates regular meetings with stakeholders to address deficiencies and corrective action plans.
Oversees the testing of various financial management systems and monitors the implementation of internal controls.
Advises supervisors and senior managers on major system issues, associated risks, functional impact, and data integrity.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: demonstrating knowledge of automated systems design and processing principles, techniques, policies, and regulations related to finance and accounting operations; identifying, documenting, and recommending financial system requirements; recommending solutions to issues related to the integration of financial systems.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
