Duties
Manages and oversees the planning, design, implementation, facilitation, operation, control and evaluation of major automated DFAS accounting, finance and financial management systems.
Participates in management planning, policy, and decision-making sessions regarding legislative changes, technological improvements, and changes in Federal and non-Federal policies.
Responsible for planning, developing, executing, and monitoring information technology to ensure portfolio of systems is reliable and secure.
Manages and directs administrative, technical and professional component IT resources through a staff of subordinate managers and supervisors.
Utilizes emerging technologies and practices and proactively seeks to integrate these into the existing system development and maintenance portfolio of systems.

- Time in Grade Requirement: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-14 or higher grade in Federal Service.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-14 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: Providing advice and consultation to executive level management on financial and administrative information systems in areas on policies and procedures, design, development, testing, and application of software, hardware, network and information security; planning and executing enterprise portfolio of information systems; managing and directing administrative, technical and professional IT resources through a staff of subordinate managers and supervisors; and applying automated systems design and processing principles, techniques, policies and regulations to financial and accounting systems.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-14 or higher grade in Federal Service.
