This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Supervisor Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the J6 Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Enterprise (C4E)
Duties
Expertise in acquisition policy and process, information technology, and management techniques
A comprehensive understanding of warfighter and strategic objectives, threat analysis, and current DOD/Industry system capabilities.
Create broad options for achieving both evolutionary and transformational improvements to the DoD strategic acquisition capabilities and enhancements.
Expert in the area of acquisition policy and associated processes, the incumbent provides leadership and direction over multiple difficult and complex major acquisition programs
Providing critical warfighter capability in direct support of DoD objectives for Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAP) and Major Automated Information System (MAIS) programs, and other DISA and organization.
Coordinates and facilitates all acquisition policy and process activities and works directly with the DISA Component Acquisition Executive (CAE), Acquisition Decision Authorities, Program Managers (PMs) and Deputy Program Managers (DPMs)
Represents or participates with the organization at conferences with representatives from higher echelon, industry, other services, DoD, and other governmental agencies and foreign governments.
Incumbent has responsibility for planning, directing, reviewing, evaluating, and coordinating the activities of subordinate personnel engaged in preparation and coordination of acquisition policy and process activities;
Conducts appropriate reviews and analyzes contractual activities; interprets, implements and ensures compliance with all acquisition program goals, thresholds and objectives.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This is a drug testing designated position.
- The incumbent must obtain Acquisition certification in the Program Management Functional Area at
the Advanced Tier 4 Functional Tier within 48 months of entry into this position.

- This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
