About the Position: This position is located within the Materiel Systems Organization (MSO) in Warren, MI. As one of Army's premier support organizations, the MSO encompasses TACOM's total life cycle acquisition responsibilities, providing functional and technical expertise for disciplined program and contract execution.

Duties

Serve as an Acquisition Program Analyst for the TACOM Life Cycle Management Command. Review programming documents received to determine affect on portfolio. Conduct analysis of programs as they affect the acquisition, logistics, and sustainment communities. Coordinate the development of life cycle documentation with the associated Program Manager.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Provide analysis/advice on Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM) portfolio programs throughout all phases of the Acquisition Process; 2) Conduct programmatic and logistical analysis to provide recommendations for program decisions; 3) Utilize technical knowledge and understanding of the acquisition process and Acquisition Category (ACAT) I, II, and III activities and requirements to formulate and/or analyze acquisition initiatives; and 4) Apply knowledge of the budget process, cost estimation methods and techniques, qualitative/quantitative techniques, procedures and requirements to formulate, justify, and/or monitor the execution of various programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Acquisition StrategyCost Benefit AnalysisProgram Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
