About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist for the Joint Activities located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Advises Director of the Exercise Control Group on actions required to ensure scenario adequately supported and that sustainment decisions are made in a timely and accurate manner. Serves as the Senior Logistics Management Specialist for the Exercise Directorate. As the Senior Logistics Management Specialist for the Exercise Directorate, the employee plans, develops, coordinates and oversees the conduct of exercise logistical requirements to support large, complex Special Operations exercises

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and selected Special Access Program (SAPs) based on a Tier 5 (or equivalent) investigation.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• May require TDY travel up to 30 days CONUS and OCONUS up to 15% of the time.
• May require uncommon tour of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evening, weekends, and holidays.
• This position requires a pre-employment physical, must be able to list 75 pounds.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing cost estimates in order to ensure exercises are conducted within established budget parameters; coordinating movement plans consisting of air, land and sea in support of both CONUS and OCONUS exercises; and coordinating with all participating units to provide funding estimate on required logistics resources for all exercises. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
