About the Position: Serve as Chief of the Supply, Mainteneance and Contracting Division, Deputy Chief of Staff, G4, HQ Forces Command with delegated authority for planning, managing, coordinating and directing logistical services and support for the command.

Duties

Represent the Command with DOD agencies, DA, DLA, GSA, AMC, other Army MACOMs and subordinate commands to develop and implement FORSCOM and DA functional area programs to equip and sustain the soldier in the field. Supervise senior level staff comprised of multiple branches of military (enlisted and commissioned officers) and civilian logistics staff officers. Analyze programs and projects to evaluate effectiveness; to identify critical areas and anticipated impact of changes in requirements and resources. Confer with personnel from military units and renders advice and assistance on matters of logistical, services, readiness and problems in related areas. Confer with subordinate managers and command leadership regarding logistics data derived from the Global Combat Service Support System - Army (GCSS-A) and other Logistics Enterprise Resource Planning Systems. Direct and evaluate work of the subordinate organizational elements through subordinate managers and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Obtain and maintain a Top secret security clearance
  • Requires up to 40% TDY travel
  • Submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position requires a pre-employment drug test and random drug tests thereafter.
  • This position requires Advanced Level III certification in the Acquisition Career Field "LIFE CYCLE LOGISTICS" or the incumbent must be able to obtain certification within 24 months of appointment.
  • This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field, Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) position and Acquisition Corps membership or waiver is required prior to appointment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in managing command equipment readiness, considering supply, maintenance and logistics system disciplines; analyze programs and projects to evaluate the effectiveness and anticipate impact of changes in the requirements and resources; establish operating policies and standards to optimize quality and effectiveness of service to logistical requirements; monitor execution of assigned supply, services and material maintenance programs; and Communicating orally and in-writing to disseminate information and provide advisory services related to logistics systems and process.
