About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Reserve Command, Office of the G-4 located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Serve as the civilian deputy to the Deputy Chief of Staff G-4, and principal advisor to the G-4 and as acting Deputy Chief G-4 during absences.
Provide programmatic input to Headquarters Department of Army for Supply, Maintenance, Systems, Logistics Operations, and Equipment Readiness programs.
Direct studies or concept operation plan preparation to provide the Deputy Chief of Staff G-4 information upon which to make final decisions.
Function as the senior technical advisor for the G-4, in development of Department of Army and US Army Forces Command regulations and policies pertaining to Army Reserves logistics issues.
Ensure that organization planning supports the overall US Army Reserve mission, based on Department of Defense and Department of Army policy, agency initiatives and legislation.
Manage the development and execution of programs related to logistics planning, management, and execution in support of programs, policies and processes that equip, maintain, and sustain the Army Reserve.
Ensure forces are prepared for mobilization and deployment.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to sustain readiness and financial stability throughout program development, execution and life-cycle.
Coordinate with senior representatives of Major Command and Headquarters Department of Army staff elements for resolution of logistics problems issues.
Direct the daily operations and technical supervision of the G-4 personnel on behalf of the G-4 Deputy Chief of Staff.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as a principle advisor for a Logistics programs at a organization equivalent to 1 star command or higher (i.e. Division, Mission Support Command, Expeditionary Sustainment Command or Major Command); directing short- and long-term operations Supply, Maintenance, Systems, Logistics Operations, and Equipment Readiness programs; providing functional guidance and instruction for military logistics program implementation of total logistics support programs; ability to balance a requirement of interpersonal skills and technical expertise that is requires coordination at the 3 star level; influencing the agency with analytical interpretation of regulation and policy as it relates to logistics and how that will be implemented for the Army Reserve; and supervising and developing senior logistics leaders in an organization equivalent to 1 star command or higher (i.e. Division, Mission Support Command, Expeditionary Sustainment Command or Major Command). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
