You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL) in the CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS BUSINESS LINE (CIBL) of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will recommend work assignments, maintains control over work progress to ensure
timely accomplishment.
You will provide resolutions for the Public Works Department/Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division (PWD/FEAD) or Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC) personnel for conventional and highly complex electrical problems.
You will coordinate with designers and field personnel in PWD/FEAD or ROICC in a timely manner to identify and define electrical design problems, and investigate and analyze pertinent issues (including A-E
liability/responsibility).
You will periodically review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material.
You will work closely with associated engineering disciplines and other technical specialists in a team effort to develop a well-integrated and coordinated design package.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing and analyzing basic project information and requirements; 2) Assisting with planning, organizing and monitoring engineering during construction support assignments; 3) Developing studies, plans and specifications for both the new construction and the rehabilitation and upgrade of existing electrical systems; 4) Preparing work scopes for and technically administering electrical design contracts; 5) Performing technical review of the electrical aspects of designs developed by other design engineers, consisting generally of drawings, specifications and design analysis.
