You will serve as a Supervisory Engineering Technician in the Engineering Support (Code 210), Engineering Department Code 200 of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will supervise a subordinate staff performing the work of the division.
You will assign work to subordinates, based on priorities and employee capabilities.
You will direct the Material Assessment Program for all ships and submarines homeported in Norfolk and Bahrain.
You will provide recommended changes to existing technical documents.
You will lead strategic planning initiatives that directly support attainment of command and department goals.
You will manage resources allocations to execute work within the constraints of established financial controls.
You will perform other duties as assigned.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position is a designated Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). You must sign a three-year tenure agreement prior to assuming the position unless a tenure waiver is approved.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- As an Acquisition Workforce (AWF) member, incumbent must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years, in accordance with DoDI 5000.66.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience analyzing findings and developing recommendations in the adjustment of program plans, objectives, and resourcing, to accommodate changes.
Experience interpreting technical material, rules, regulations, and instructions to develop and promulgate engineering technical strategy, policy, guidance, and plans.
Experience applying principles, methods, tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing engineering projects and resources, including technical performance.
Experience using expert skill in oral and written communication, to communicate, negotiate, and resolve conflict.
Experience reviewing work of subordinates in relation to division objectives, ensuring conformance to established engineering practices.
