You will serve as a Supervisory Engineering Technician in the FST Engineering Division of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will serve as a senior engineering resource for all topics involving subsystems and flight controls for the Division. You will establish performance standards, assess performance, counsel, evaluate, and recommend awards. You will maintain open communication with the FST and Competency leadership locally and nationally on technical issues to ensure timely production of high-quality engineering products and services in accord with all policies and procedures. You will provide recommendations and input for plans to establish a series of annual and multi-year work plans, goals, and objectives. You will advise and mentor subordinates on technical and administrative matters. You will promote team building and quality customer service goals.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. 1.) Maintaining close involvement with Program Managers/IPT Leaders in development and attainment of overall goals and objectives with respect to engineering software for aircrafts and components. 2.) Establishing performance standards, assessing performances, counseling, evaluating subordinates' performance, and recommending awards. 3.) Assigning, managing, and controlling workload to ensure maximum utilization of resources to meet all customer requirements. 4.) Establishing well-documented, standard processes for use throughout the organization, and ensuring new technology and lessons learned are incorporated. 5.) Promoting team building and quality customer service goals.
