You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Air Vehicle Aerospace Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will perform maintenance and design engineering tasks on a variety of aircraft structures and systems. You will provide aircraft engineering services in support of troubleshooting, rework, repair, maintenance, inspection and modification/redesign of aircraft structures, systems, and components. You will investigate and resolve complex technical problems related to the rework/repair of aircraft discrepancies/malfunctions and unprecedented service difficulties. You will assemble, correlate, develop and issue engineering specifications concerning novel and unusual problems in the processing, rework or repair of supported systems and components.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience: 1) troubleshooting / solving complex engineering solutions for significantly challenging fleet and depot issues and in-service repairs and/or improvements for aircraft rotors; 2) Understanding work in diverse teams and clearly communicate to all levels of NAVAIR and to internal and external customers (FST, PMA, Production, Fleet, MAO, Industry Partners, etc.),; 3) Applying knowledge of negotiation principals to resolve technical and programmatic related conflicts.
