You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F-35 Lightning Support Team) in the FST ENGINEERING DIVISION of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will be assigned to aircrafts involving highly complex and integrated structural mechanical, hydraulic, power, thermal, and flight control systems that require a wide variety of engineering technical skills to support. You will provide engineering technical services and liaison with other activities, manufacturers, and contractors. You will analyze, develop, and provide technical decisions and engineering dispositions in support of the local or off-site depot production line shops and various component processing back shops. You will develop inspection bulletins to inspect for and correct potentially unsafe conditions. You will develop redesign options and evaluates contractor proposals for improved designs and redesigns.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing support with F-35 depot level modifications and maintenance; 2) Analyzing, troubleshooting, and solving complex engineering solutions for significantly challenging fleet and depot issues; 3) Providing knowledge and support on technical areas pertaining to aircraft airframes, sheet metal, and low observable coatings; 4) Providing oral and written reports and other forms of communication associated with technical matters pertaining to maintenance, logistics, and/or engineering.
