You will serve as a INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST (SHIPS) on a DDG Class Team in the DDG Team C Branch (Code 321C), Combatant Division, Waterfront Operations Department, Office of the Executive Director of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Duties

You will head a project management team established for each DDG availability assigned to MARMC as the Naval Supervising Activity (NSA). You will act as the business agent for MARMC with other activities involved in the assigned contracts. You will act as funds administrator for the assigned availability and contracts. You will coordinate planning and estimating, design specification preparation, and scheduling. You will conduct the arrival conference, weekly progress conferences, and represent MARMC at all conferences pertaining to the assigned availability and contracts. You will manage ship repair job orders and contracts by progressing/monitoring all work to anticipate, prevent, or minimize delays, resolve problems, and recommend corrective actions to the responsible department.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing funds for contracts of ships to comply with regulations/laws regarding receipt, maintenance, and transfer of funds. Experience planning, estimating, scheduling, expediting labor, machines, and materials in an industrial environment. Experience managing ship repair job orders and contracts by progressing and monitoring contract administration and procurement regulations. Experience composing technical reports and briefs to conduct meetings and conferences.
