You will serve as a GG-0101-13 Social Scientist at the Marine Corps Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Enterprise Insider Threat Program Office at HQ US MARINE CORPS in Quantico, VA, where you will perform duties related to social and behavioral science and provide scientific expertise, advice, research, and analysis to maintain all aspects of the Insider Threat Program.
Duties
You will assist the Insider Threat Program by ensuring duties related to scientific expertise and advising, analysis and inquiry, scientific research and publication, and services are conducted according to policies and procedures.
You will collaborate with other professionals across the Navy, Marine Corps, the Intelligence Community, and outside agencies regarding Insider Threat Program findings.
You will provide guidance to the organization and participate in the gathering and analytical collection of information.
You will identify socio-cultural data gaps and specified and implied socio-cultural data requirements.
You will present and defend data findings and brief major socio-cultural trends and changes to leadership.
You will use effective verbal and written communication techniques in order to produce activity and national products, present briefings at high government or Service levels, and participate in or chair working groups and conferences.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
- This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
- This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
- Travel required for contingency/exercise support, briefings, conferences, and training.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following duties such as:
1. Provide advice and guidance relating to social and behavioral science to ensure that duties related to scientific expertise and advising. analysis and inquiry, scientific research and publication, and services are conducted according to policies and procedures.
2. Participate in the gathering and analytical collecting of information to provide guidance to the organization.
3. Identify socio-cultural data gaps and specified and implied socio-cultural data requirements.
4. Produce activity and national products, participate in conferences and workshops and brief major socio-cultural trends and changes to leadership.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Applicants must possess:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
