About the Position: Serves as a Military Plans Specialist for the G5 Plans Directorate, Deputy Chief of Staff, G5 (Plans). This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Duties

Develops written plans and routinely provides oral presentations and update briefs to senior personnel on the status of ongoing planning activities. Leads and facilitates Operational Planning Teams during execution of all planning activities while using established Army planning methodologies. Develops courses of action and/or recommendations for mobilization-related issues. Participates in Army wide mobilization and deployment activities with representatives of the Army's mobilization enterprise. Briefs higher echelon and distinguished visitors on planning, mobilization, and programming issues. Presents and defends the organizations planning and resource issues at major planning and programming conferences.

Requirements

  • The position requires approximately 20% travel annually.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational AwarenessPlanning and EvaluatingReading Comprehension Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
