The incumbent serves as the Cost Estimation Lead and acts as a technical point of contact for cost estimates and assigned activities related to the establishment, modernization, sustainment, and operation of National Airspace System (NAS) facilities and equipment in support of Facility and Equipment (F&E) and Operations (Ops) funded programs.

Duties

The incumbent collaborates and coordinates with project managers, engineers, program analysts, and other stakeholders on the development and utilization of FAA cost-estimating methodologies, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-J level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is:Leverages extensive experience as a technical lead to coordinate and direct a team of cost estimators on intricate projects involving aviation infrastructure, systems, and programs. Applies advanced knowledge of cost-estimating principles, theories, and concepts to develop comprehensive life cycle cost (LCC) estimates for proposed modifications to the National Airspace System.Creates and maintains detailed cost models for various Federal Aviation Administration projects, incorporating labor, materials, equipment, inflation, and risk factorsApplicants should provide examples of Specialized Experience in their Work History.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
