You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER (PARAMEDIC) in the FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will be responsible for the oversight of the departments Emergency Medical Service Program.
You will periodically respond to emergency incidents to observe basic and advanced life support patient care, and personally conduct special inspections and investigations.
You will be required to direct the Fire and Emergency Services operations as the incident Commander during major emergency incidents of fire and hazardous material alarms.
You will coordinate emergency medical services (EMS) related training activities for EMS personnel.
You will prepare budget submissions for operation and maintenance of a training program.
You will complete written reports and records on emergency services incidents, patients, drugs administered equipment, or supplies used.
You will assume the roles and responsibilities of a Division Chief of Operations in their absences.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

- You must be able and willing to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license within 90 days of appointment.

- You must be willing to accept an Emergency Essential position.
- You must maintain the following certifications: Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor II, Fire Inspector II, HazMat Incident Commander, and Fire Department Incident Safety Officer.
- Must be willing to be recalled for duty 24 hours a day via electronic pager or telephone unless prior arrangements are made
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to work a 60 hour work week, subject to Fire Chief approval.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provides input on the development of standard operating procedures pertaining to Emergency Medical Service (EMS) programs; Provides guidance on Emergency Medical Service (EMS) program procedures and requirements; and Applies fire department administration and emergency operations to ensure EMS delivery is in compliance with applicable regulations.
