About the Position: Serves as secretary and personal assistant primarily by performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties which relieve the supervisor of all office routine and aids in the solution of procedural and management problems.
Duties
Serves as the secretary and principal office assistant, Commander, Training System Management Specialist, and First Sergeant of the United States Army Prime Power School.
Serves as official timekeeper for all assigned civilian employees; the administrative specialist for the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS).
Ascertains the nature of the communication and determines the appropriate action to be taken.
Serves as administrative assistant for civilian personnel matters, by originating request for personnel actions and extracting reports and notifications of completed actions.
Establishes and maintains a variety of office files under the Army's functional filing system, and Prime Power School policies and procedures.
Coordinates the visits for high-level U.S. officials to the Prime Power School and tours of the school by other organizations (civilian and government)
Serves as the Training Coordinator for all Prime Power School civilian staff members.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM).

One year of specialized experience which includes preparing and reviewing correspondence, reports, and other documents; ensuring correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and appropriate format; maintaining supervisor's calendar and scheduling appointments and meetings; making travel arrangements, scheduling transportation, hotel reservations, and preparing travel orders using automated systems; and utilizing a variety of office automation software programs (such as Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
