About the Position: This position is located at the U S Army MsCoE, Chemical School at Ft Leonard Wood. FLW is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Mo. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St Robert and Interstate 44. St Louis is a 2- hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour drive to the West of Ft Leonard Wood.
Duties
Screen calls and visitors to the Command Group, refers staff members any inquiries falling in their specialized areas and forwards to the supervisor only those calls or visitors requiring the supervisor's attention.
Schedule appointments, and makes commitments for the Command Group to attend meetings, luncheons, etc., without prior approval.
Review outgoing correspondence and reports prepared by directorates and offices under the auspices of the Command Group, ensuring proper format, mathematical correctness, and correct grammatical content.
Prepare correspondence for the signature of the Command Group and maintains records and files for same.
Coordinate travel arrangements, personal contacts, accommodations, escort and VIP services and type itineraries.
Perform typing work using word processing equipment.
Use database or spreadsheet software to record, revise, correct, merge, print and program material.
Type a variety of material in final form from written material, brief notes, voice recordings or verbal instructions.
Prepare invitations and maintains guest lists for official social events hosted by the Command Group.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience:
Specialized Experience is one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) receiving and screening telephone calls and visitors; 2) maintaining calendars for the Command Group by scheduling appointments, meetings, airline and hotel reservations; 3) using various databases or spreadsheet software to produce spreadsheets, letters, and memorandums; and 4) ensuring correspondence for correct grammar content, spelling content, mathematical correctness and punctuation format. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7).
Qualified Typist Requirement: In addition to meeting the experience requirements, for all positions titled as Office Automation or any clerical positions which has parenthetical title of Office Automation (OA), applicants must have typing proficiency of 40 words per minute (wpm).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
