About the Position: This position is located at the U S Army Military Police School at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is in Pulaski County, Mo. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2hr. drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Screen calls and visitors to the Command office, refers to staff members any inquiries falling in their specialized areas and forwards to the supervisor only those calls or visitors requiring the supervisor's attention.
Schedule appointments and make commitments for the Command Office to attend meetings, luncheons, etc. without prior approval.
Review all incoming correspondence, determining proper action; at times preparing answers before referring to the Command Office.
Prepare General Officer correspondence for the signature of the Secretary to the Commandant, prepares routine correspondence for the Command Office
and maintains records and files for each.
Utilize the Defense Travel System (DTS), to make airline and hotel reservations for trips taken by the Command Office and maintain official
digital calendar for command staff.
Assist with booking flights, reserve lodging and rental car reservation, and creating travel itineraries, book travel and close out vouchers upon
request for the Command Office.
Perform typing work using word processing equipment to include correspondence, letters, reports, memorandums, tabular data, charts, rosters, form letters, and forms.
Use database or spreadsheet software to record, revise, correct, merge, print, and program material. Review typed material and as appropriate develops document formats.
Prepare a variety of materials such as General Officer correspondence, forms and reports from rough draft, notes, voice recordings, or oral instructions to include the correct spelling, grammar, arrangement of materials.

Specialized Experience is one year of specialized experience which includes receiving and screening telephone calls and visitors, maintaining calendars by arranging meetings or conferences, preparing and reviewing travel orders, itineraries, and travel vouchers using various databases for word processing, spreadsheets, administrative actions, typing and reviewing correspondence for correct grammar and punctuation format. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7).
Qualified Typist Requirement: In addition to meeting the experience requirements, for all positions titled as Office Automation or any clerical positions which has parenthetical title of Office Automation (OA), applicants must have typing proficiency of 40 words per minute (wpm).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
