About the Position: Fort Drum, home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) is located in Northern New York, a historically unique and geographically beautiful area. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada with the Great Lakes to the west, Adirondack Mountains to the east, St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.
Duties
Serve as a Management Analyst responsible for providing a wide range of management services essential to the operation of the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS)
Evaluate and analyze the directorate’s equipment Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) for physical inventory and requirements.
Provide managers with specific guidance of changes to be made and evaluates for compliance with pertinent Army regulations, higher headquarters directives and local polices.
Assist in the planning, development, assembly and analysis of special studies and reports, and/or one-time projects. Develops recommended actions to be taken based upon interpretation of the objectives and requirements for assigned programs.
Serves as a Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder and the directorates ordering official and executes purchases in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation and local Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Inputting data for Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) into an automated system such as the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) and Automated Nature of Action (AutoNOA) which reflects manpower data and recruitment strategies; AND 2) Reviewing policies such as financial management, manpower and recruitment strategies in order to provide guidance to organization staff; AND 3) Preparing reports relating to organization manpower authorizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
